VECO, another semi-supplier warns

Veeco cuts Q2 orders expectations (VECO) By Michael Baron

Veeco Instruments (VECO) is slipping 96 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $40.95, after the Plainview, N.Y., firm warned that it expects orders of $80 million to $90 million in the second quarter, below its previous guidance of $100 million. The maker of process equipment and metrology tools for the optical telecommunications and semiconductor industries cited the weak market environment, which has decreased capital spending and continued rescheduling of orders. Veeco said it plans to take steps to reduce its cost structure in light of business conditions. The company issued a press release detailing the new guidance prior to its presentation at the Bear Stearns Technology Conference today.

JDSU can be bought for $12 now. ...lower than the low set early April.

I buy perhaps at $9 in the next days.
