Don't even need to toast them...at the cottage we can go through a whole basket of tomatoes...fresh good rye bread, mayo and salt & pepper. Secret is to have one person making the open-faced sandwiches, and cut them into bite sized pieces. Sometimes we need 2 people making, just to keep up with the demand.
