"Let's give up the idea government can create companies with rules and regulations. Instead, promote what's already out there. We have a 100 year old twisted pair plant and 50 year old cable plant. Let's give these guys whatever they need to get broadband to every home/business in America."

Hear, hear. Policy/regulation isn't a desirable thing in itself. Good policy/ regulation is.
