Concerning the hurricane forecast that you axed about...The nations leading expert in seasonal predictions did recently up his expected total for this summer and fall by 2 storms to 12. The problem with focusing on the raw #s however is this. In the mid 90s (96 I think) we made it almost all the way through the alphabet yet didn't have a single hurricane hit the US. Andrew otoh was the nations costliest storm but came in a yr where there were no other storms that made landfall.
