I've been thinking about one problem with the euro that I have not yet seen addressed: It is said before the final collapse of East Germany, millions of east german marks were printed and give to the party leadership et al... all of which in the end was exchanged for d marks from the west after the union of the two Germanys.... What is to prevent the printing of currencies by Euroland members in the same fashion? all in secret/more or less/of course.
