I do not think they can unilaterally secede, no, anymore than I think I can buy ten acres by the Chesapeake Bay and declare myself the King of Neoconia. Troops would be sent. Of course, if they offer no resistance, I would prefer leniency, but if they fire on troops, yes, fire should be returned. In fact, Alaska is a particularly bad candidate, since it was bought by the federal government........
