rolatzi,

You can buy a mix of CD's and bonds. Until I see the corporations paying inflation adjusted wages I think the bonds are ok. I have been implementing this strategy for a portion of my assets. I recently got a 6.25% CD where the FV of this instrument is 6.5% since it pays interest on a monthly bases. I have also been able to get 6% government agency debt (TVA). The FV of this instrument is not as great since they only pay the interest semi annually.

I am legging into these and will buy more when the interest rates go up.
