Re : gold supply / demand and "a diamond is forever." Some very smart person once pointed out that one of the biggest impediments to the prospect of (gem quality) diamonds going up in price is DeBeer's own "line" : A diamond is forever. The supply / demand equation is quite weird as compared to almost any other "thing" you can think of. The same problem is (I believe) a factor in the 2 decade long sideways to down price movement in the price of gold. Jon.
