Interesting story. McVeigh has virtually no support, except among Aryan Nation types, just as almost all pro- lifers condemn shooting abortionists (actually, there is more sympathy there, because less collateral damage). John Brown is an interesting case. I agree with Abraham Lincoln in condemning his vigilantism, but there is always the fascination with the heroic desperation he and his sons showed, the attempt to cut through the Gordian knot of the national ambivalence on the slavery question........
