I reject the notion that Jeffords knew exactly what he was going to do months ago. If Bush's congressional liaisons and Senate GOP leadership had been on top of the situation, Jeffords would still be in the GOP, Orrin Hatch would still be head of the Judiciary Committee, and scores of Bush's judicial appointments would not now be in confirmation limbo.

Bottom line: The Republicans blew this one big time. They adopted a "my way or the highway" attitude and Jeffords called their bluff.

The GOP has no one to blame but itself.

Clinton is yesterday's news. Why do you and JLA and scores of other right-wingers have to keep bringing Clinton into every other post? He's out of office. Your man is in control. Time for some responsibility.
