Shalala Beats Clinton to the Links
newsmax.com
While former first duffer Bill Clinton is having a tough
time locating a golf club that will accept him as a
member, one of his former Cabinet members has jumped to
the head of an eight-year-long waiting list at the home of
some of Florida's most prestigious fairways.

Ex-Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala has
been invited to join Coral Gables' tony Riviera Country
Club, where she leap-frogged over some 180 people waiting
to get in, reports the Miami Herald this week.

University of Miami UM has agreed to pick up Shalala's country club dues
of nearly $40,000 per year.

Asked when she intended to invite her country
club-deprived ex-boss down for a chip shot or two, Shalala advised that Clinton shouldn't hold his breath.

"(I) don't want to send any inappropriate signals," she
told the Herald
