If I didn't have muslim friends who I've hand many reasonable discussions with about our respective beliefs, I probably would over-estimate anti-Americanism.

I understand that the vocal minority often creates a false impression not represented by the more silent majority that exists in every society (usually the ones with far more common sense)...

And just as we're seeing Bush (and by default, the US) being bullied by the vocal minority in Europe, I'm not about to believe that most Europeans hate Americans.

But I do believe that Europe has sent an official "shot across the bow" of the US, and are embarking on a course where they will demonize the US in order to unify their own disparate peoples...

But what Europeans will always know is that they will see their individual abilities and worth financially rewarded to a greater degree HERE, than in their own native land.

And given the unfunded liabilities (entitlements) that many European nations are facing in the near future, with the corresponding need for deficit spending to fund them, I dare say the US will face even greater vilification by our former "allies".

After all, the only way they can compete with the US economically is by hobbling US growth through such bogus mechanisms as Kyoto.
