<< I would probably rule it out. First, with Jordon, even if he'd had a better supporting cast early on, he'd have had the competition of the Kareem/Magic Lakers, the Bird/McKale/Parish Celtics, and the Pistons at their peak. Jordon's Bull benefited from the lessened competition in the 90's. >>

Come off it! If Jordan had had magic or kareem or mcchale or bird or isiah in 1988, he could have easily won 1989-2000 (all of them). The fact is, these other teams all had two world-class players (except maybe the pistons, but they had a fantastic overall team around isiah), and Jordan only had himself.

Maybe you don't remember, but in Jordan's second season, he scored 63 points (playoff record) against the Celtics. After the game Larry remarked "that was God disguised as Michael Jordan." You're telling me that any other team could have stopped the combo of Michael-anybodydecent?

<< was the all-time leading scorer in the NBA >>

Was? Before him was Wilt and Elgin, and after was Michael. Don't think he is in all time top 10 is he?

My all time, all around still Elgin, and best to watch was Hondo.

Kareem IS the NBA's all time leading scorer. In his prime, he AVERAGED about 30 points per game. VERY consistent scorer, unstoppable when in position. Also, an underrated rebounder in his prime (averaged double figures) and a good defender.

Elgin was the Jordon of his time. And Hondo was fun too.
