The "demise" of the Federalist Party never actually occurred. Instead we have today two wings of ONE federalist party that chomps forward into the tattered remains of what once were our rights like some unabated Pac-Man creature.

After brushing up a little on the Hartford Convention, it seems to me they met in secret to hide the fact they were going to sell the South down the river and throw in with England. It behooved them to conceal their treachery. What they contemplated was far worse than mere secession.
