One of the KEY causes of the economic collapse (and there were many causes, but only a few that were KEY causes), was the Federal Reserve Bank ratcheting up the interest rates TWELVE times before the market finally collapsed. Why did they decide to go down this road of such insanity? Because they "thought" the economy was overheated and they wanted to slow it down. Well, as it turned out, they slowed it down reeeeeeal good.
