I do not defend their desire to keep slaves (and, BTW, no one has a right to another individual's life -- and slavery is the ultimate violation of that), but I do defend a State's right to secession, as did some of the greatest men in American history as outlined in many other posts upon this thread.

BTW, my responses are never unworthy. I don't much care for Lincoln, although he was a saint compared to FDR.
