Mark,

I've been away from the computer watching the Lakers win the NBA championship. What fun! What a team.

You've probably already read Former Joe's post explaining the term better than I could. I know Compaqs years ago were heavily proprietary. My father in law had one and replacing a floppy was a major expense because only a Compaq brand floppy would work. It could have been a different part, but you get the idea.

It surprised me to hear that Dells used any proprietary hardware in their systems. I'm hoping Joe will get to the bottom of this as his class proceeds. I'm sure he will, since he uses one.

Hasta mañana,
Esteban
