no-one said 'no money'...but there's a difference between honest money and what we have now. my remark only meant to point out that particular historical tendency: eventually, all fiat experiments have failed, and honest money (backed by more than promises) was re-instated. the current experiment is of course still ongoing. we'll see how it goes. i think in view of historic precedent, one can't glibly assume that the money system won't eventually suffer a crisis of confidence. it is very much possible. why should we assume that the status quo of the past 20 years (a disinflation boom) will last? at the moment, trust in the abilities of the monetary bureaucrats is still high...but it is certainly not immutable.
