Cary,
Weren't you just buying cisco and jdsu and extolling their virtues in recent posts? Correct me if i am wrong. And in my post i was talking about early 2002 with this area lagging but the market anticipating that recovery. Isn't there a point in the life of a stock when all or most of the bad news is factored in? If jdsu/csco business comes back in July 2002 the market could react with a bottom here just as it did for amat back in november. And so far amat doesnt appear to be heading back to the 20's as you predict. Anyway I am guessing at this all at this point. As you I dont trust the analysts but i also dont trust NT execs or LU execs. They were no exactly on target predicting anything correctly over the last year or so. You selectively use them to make your point. Is John Chambers predicting no recovery until mid 2002--i doubt it. Mike

statements from NT and LU are about telecom only. The carriers are in heavy debt, so the recovery is far away. But the chip sector of technology is in recovery mode. Intel and National already said so. Applied Material is seeing signs and its chart shows. So QQQ will hold above 1650. And Greenspan will cut the rate by another 0.5% on June 27, why? because he's panicked.
