Hawk,

Yer on a roll, don't let up. The invasion of Tibet, territorial disputes with Viet Nam, periodic tensions on the Sino-FSU border, commercial disputes with India, the People's Army using slave labor to produce landmines as an export profit center, massive disregard for the ecology of the Three Gorges region, the forced relocation of citizens thereabouts........

Who are the real imperialists? Well, I can think of two viable candidates for the title today. The Russians are temporarily only wannabees, the Brits have seen their day in the sun and Alexander the Great is greatly lamented, as is Ghengis Khan, by their respective heirs and successors.

BTW, what would we do if the Chinese were flying regular surveillance patrols 200 miles off Houston? I rather suspect we got a pot callin' a kettle black on this one.

[[I found it hilarious that the Chinese actually got our negotiators to agree to chop our plane on that island and stuff it into a Russian cargo plane. What a howler. If this isn't just about at the level of third graders butting heads in a sandbox I don't know what is. <vbg> ]]

Cheerio, Ray :)
