<<Have you EVER heard of a report as absolutely ludicrously bad as that?>>

You clearly weren't around when I brought home my report card for the second semester of third grade.

In the LA Times article about the NT stuff, there was an offhand little interview with a major telecom analyst (whose name now escapes me) who basically said that Nortel would probably return to profitability in the second half. . . of 2002. So maybe that "second half recovery" talk is right on. (Note: I'm not THAT bearish, but I will never pass up a joke).

Shack -- do you really see a strong C wave coming with even marginal new highs in here? With the current backdrop, what could possibly be the spark for that? Even if the charts imply it might come, can't the actual events (such as 19 billion buck losses) overrule? And no, I'm not saying we suddenly crash to new lows here, either. But that C. . . . I dunno 'bout that.
