Not sure I know what your ???'s are about.

RSTN employs what they call "Intelligent Service Router Architecture" which separates the routing function from the lower level packet manipulation where security is handled on line cards. So security is only a matter of line card capability.

You weren't impressed with the Avici partnership? You might have been impressed if only for the fact that Avici is in the core optical business.

Where is the core? I've looked everywhere for it and still can't find it. Best I can tell it's located at backbone terminal points which would make the core a locus of points.

I guess you mean RSTN is small. For the last bunch of years big has got all the business. Now big is its own inertial liability and will get the business. Small is flexible and can grow nicely even while big grabs the big piece. No big has got what RSTN has. I'd guess CSCO is at least 6 months behind, and may not be putting emphasis on this part of their incredibly complex business. DS3NTH, the unknown factor I alluded to in my previous post, may cause CSCO to change its priorities.

Salomon is simply trying to get its customers aboard what they think is a good opportunity. Why do you care about what they do?
