mishedlo,

Sometimes when I want to short volatile stocks with options I will use put bear spreads to take the bite out of the huge time premium. Sometimes both legs of the spread can be played, but that's a nervy game that I try to avoid.

I haven't yet done this with HOMS, just shorted the stock or wrote naked calls. The 33 - 25 range seems to work very well, but I wonder if it'll ever get over 30 again now that Blodgett is backing off. Many are expecting a rally next week, and I don't expect it to last, so I reckon we'll get another chance to line up at the ATM, as Donny Brasco calls it.

FWIW

Cheers, Tuck

Mishedlo - Re: HOMS

This pos has held up really well despite NAZ dumping almost 300 points and downgrades.

Bollinger bands are tightening and I expect a significant move soon (5-6 points)
Based on the relative strength compared to the market, I would say the move will be higher.

I will short 33-35, not earlier.

Re: options

I dont like writting July 30 calls here.
First too much time.
Second I only write calls if no stock is available to short.
I mentally cant deal with option spreads.

July 30 are 1.75 by 1.95

The second you are filled, you are down 11.4%
I want to be the MM, lol
