Yes. Sigh. I've been watching.

SNAFU as always.

I love it when people who have never taught, and never have been interested in teaching, write legislation about education. I guess they figure since they warmed a seat through the educational system they are somehow informed enough to legislate about it, even though they obviously learned nothing on the trip through. That would be like my E. Coli thinking that because they travel through my gut they can perform abdominal surgery. My E. Coli don't have that kind of hubris, thank goodness, but then legislators probably aren't as evolved as bacteria yet.

edit- it occurs to me I might sound a tad annoyed. That's because I am in the middle of filling out all the f@cking assesment forms Sacramento now requires, and trying to comply with all the new guidelines as I plow through my report cards. We have to use all sorts of testing now, when we fill out the report cards for the kids. Not that anyone pays any attention to the testing. You don't get any extra help or anything- unless you are in line for retention. If you are floundering but promoting you are out of luck. Talk about depressing. Lots of teachers (good teachers) are leaving because of all the new crap rolling in on the tide from Sacramento.
