I thought I answered DO. I went on to call it TIA/EIA/IS-856 1xEV-DV. Should I have called it TIA/EIA/IS-856 "CDMA2000 High Rate Packet Data Air Interface" (1xEV-D0) which is the standard that evolved from HDR with some significant changes urged by carriers? << Please link us to an article about the FUT ... Sorry pal, not everything is online I would say. >> We agree on that, and that certainly applies to EDGE does it not?. Being lazy I thought you were going to link me to the Cannes video where Dr. J was carrying around a specially equipped prototype device to demonstrate HDR (or maybe 1xEV-DO), or one of the Sprint PCS or KDDI clips, which I do not have instantly handy, but I am appreciative of Slacker providing one of the KDDI clips. << Do you always get a red face if somebody calls Tiger as a big cat? >> Here on the threads, I only get a red face when I state something in error (which I am perfectly capable of) like I did here with the PPG & RPG calculations from the Lakers series:Message 15954379 ... and generally I attempt to correct that, if I can. << Sometimes things are just as simple as that, so is the answer. >> That is true. Seems to me that when Chaz asked "where and under what conditions has EDGE been tested in a real world situation?", the answer "Same places as 1xEV" is perfectly appropriate - and simple. Guess I should have added -DO, as it would have been more precise. ... and all this subject to an interpretation of what "real world" means, but I know what it means to me. Real World, I guess is that Lakers reign, for one more year, at least ... Best, - Eric -
