Saddam hit Israel about one out of 20 tries. He was then quickly put out of business. You are pretty stupid (not me) if you want to spend 200 billion to stop old-fashioned SCUDS which can't even find a target. True though if Saddam wanted to set off a bio-chemical charge he could and wouldn't need a SCUD to do it. Terrorism in fact would always find a way around satellite anti-missile systems. They'd just carry it to the target or drive it in like your right-wing anarchist friend McVeigh did. So far not one of you party-line zealots have come up with one credible enemy which Star Wars could defeat. China is the only possible threat I can see but that's a separate and sensitive issue. Also any anti-missile system can be fooled by drones, chaf and other decoys. They could launch 99 decoys and one real one. Meanwhile all kinds of anti-missile system research is being done and the Aegis and Patriot Systems are being upgraded. We're far beyond any other country in those areas already. But moot point, the Senatae will kill this Star Wars boondoggle anyway. Maybe some more tests but that's about it. and if they continue to fail like they al have before, kaput. Anyway I'm tired of the issue and politics in general. Just want this damn market to start rebounding. Oil stocks too.
