08:03 ET IBM (IBM) 113.60: Goldman Sachs hardware analyst Laura Conigliaro previews IBM's quarter; cuts revenue growth forecast to 3.0% from 3.5% due to foreign exchange; also discusses a "realistic worst case scenario" - says this would be flat revenues and a 5-6 cent EPS miss vs her $1.14 forecast.




08:01 ET Global Crossing (GX) 8.66: First Union downgrades to MKT PERFORM from Buy; cites research that suggests the industry is slowing the rate of long-term IRU commitments, opting instead for shorter-term capacity contracts. Firm estimates that a 20% reduction in IRU sales over the next seven qtrs could jeopardize GX's fully funded status.




07:58 ET Goldman on Net Infrastructure : Goldman Sachs cutting estimates on the internet infrastructure sector, citing dot-com erosion and expected pricing pressures in the second half of 2001; cuts FY02 revenue estimates on EXDS by 18%, ISLD by 22%, and MFNX by 29%. Goldman says that neutral-platform hosting company Equinix (EQIX) might buck the trend and make its numbers.
