He never appeared stupid to me. A little awkward, yes; stupid, no. Presidents cannot be expert on everything they are asked to comment on, and need to be briefed. I would rather have a guy with strong advisors than one who is a "know it all"......

Well, that much has been said over and over, even by Democrats who have met with him.

It is indicative of our culture that someone's intelligence is judged by the skill of public speaking and/or whether one is photogenic. Lincoln would never get elected today - he was ugly and he stuttered. I could never be elected to so much as city dog catcher, I am TERRIBLE at public speaking. :)
