Bombardier and Germany's Deutsche Structured Finance Sign
MoU for 50 Firm Bombardier CRJ Aircraft

PARIS, FRANCE--JUNE 18, 2001 - 05:28 EDT
Bombardier Aerospace and Deutsche Structured
Finance (DSF) today announced that DSF, in association with
Deutsche Operating Leasing AG (DOL) have concluded a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) for the purchase of 50 Bombardier CRJ*
regional jets - plus 30 optioned aircraft. The definitive
purchase contract is expected to be finalized shortly.

The MoU outlines an agreement for the sale of 50 firm aircraft -
30 70-seat Bombardier CRJ700* and 20 86-seat Bombardier CRJ900* -
plus 30 optioned aircraft. The optioned aircraft allow DOL the
flexibility to choose between Bombardier CRJ200*, CRJ700 and
CRJ900 models of the CRJ family of regional jets.

The firm order portion of the contract is valued at approximately
U.S.$1.5 billion (Cdn.$2.25 billion) with deliveries scheduled to
begin in the first quarter of 2003 and be completed in the second
quarter of 2009. The option portion of the contract is valued at
approximately U.S.$1.0 billion (Cdn.$1.5 billion).

DOL was created and launched in 1999 by DSF as a dedicated
aircraft operating leasing company to address the growing market
requirement for investments by German investors in aircraft
leasing. DSF, together with DOL which is managed by DSF, is
responsible for an operating lease portfolio currently comprised
of 12 Boeing 737-300, two Boeing 767-300ER and nine Bombardier CRJ
aircraft. DSF and DOL were the first operating lessors to enter
the regional jet market with Bombardier aircraft.

"Aircraft operating leasing, especially in the regional jet
segment, is a growth industry within a growth industry," said Paul
Steinhardt, CEO of DOL and chief managing director of DSF. "The
demand for aircraft, particularly in the regional jet market, is
expected to continue on its growth path for the next two decades
and we believe the Bombardier CRJ family of regional jets will
continue to be the premier brand in the industry. This order is
not only demonstrative of this belief but also of the value
attached by DSF to the relationship which has been built with
Bombardier since entering the regional jet market with its first
Bombardier CRJ two years ago," he said.

"We are extremely pleased that DSF through DOL has exclusively
selected the flexibility of the Bombardier CRJ family for the
regional jet portion of its portfolio," said Steven Ridolfi,
president, Bombardier Regional Aircraft. "This order will allow
DSF and DOL to further expand the reach of the Bombardier CRJ
product line to customers who require operating lease options in
their business," he said.

It is expected that DSF will primarily concentrate its regional
jet portfolio in the European marketplace.

Since the first commercial CRJ entered revenue service with
Lufthansa CityLine in late 1992, well over 500 aircraft have been
delivered. Firm order backlog for Bombardier's family of regional
jets is well in excess of 600 aircraft while conditional orders
and options raise total commitments for all Bombardier CRJ models
beyond the 2,300 mark.

The initial 50-passenger Bombardier CRJ100/200 models were joined
in the marketplace earlier this year by the first growth version
in the product family - the 70-seat class Bombardier CRJ700.
First deliveries of the further extended model - the 86-seat
Bombardier CRJ900 - will begin in the first quarter of 2003. Both
the Bombardier CRJ700 and Bombardier CRJ900 are well ahead of
competing aircraft currently under development.

Bombardier's regional jet airliner family concept helps to reduce
operating, maintenance and spares costs to operators with mixed
CRJ fleets through commonality in flight crew and maintenance
training as well as substantial capital savings through parts and
equipment common to all members of the airliner family.

Deutsche Structured Finance GmbH, in addition to its other
activities as a specialist in cross-border property and project
related transactions for moveable assets, is the inventor of the
German Operating Lease for aircraft of which it has concluded 26
to date. DSF is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DePfa Bank AG.

Bombardier to Obtain Q400 Certification for London City
Airport

PARIS, FRANCE-- JUNE 18, 2001 - 05:28 EDT

Anticipated JAA Steep Approach Certification Will Expand Q400
Market

Bombardier Aerospace, in cooperation with the European Joint
Airworthiness Authorities (JAA) and its member countries, are in
the process of certifying the high-speed, 68-to-78 passenger
Bombardier Q400* turboprop for steep approach operations at London
City Airport (LCY). JAA approval will permit airlines to operate
the Bombardier Q400 between this unique urban airport and
important business centres throughout the United Kingdom and
western Europe.

"The steep approach program is further evidence of Bombardier's
commitment to the Bombardier Q400 program and to our airline
customers who recognize the value the Bombardier Q400 will provide
from London City," said Bombardier Regional Aircraft president
Steven Ridolfi. "The Bombardier Q400 flies at a jet-like 360
knots, but burns about 40% less fuel than a similar size jet. It
requires far fewer passengers to break even, making new routes
from London City to secondary European cities viable for the first
time," he said.

London City's uniquely steep approach angle of 5.5 degrees,
compared to 3 to 3.5 degrees at most commercial airports, is
required for local noise abatement and obstacle clearance. Any
aircraft serving this airport must achieve steep approach approval
before it can be eligible for use at LCY.

"With full payloads typical of London City traffic, the Bombardier
Q400 will easily serve markets up to 430 nautical miles from the
airport and provide commercially attractive operations out to 800
nautical miles to capture destinations such as Stockholm, Warsaw,
Budapest, Rome and Madrid amongst others," said Mr. Ridolfi.

Augsburg Airways of Germany and British European Airways, both
Bombardier Q400 customers, have expressed strong interest in using
the aircraft at LCY where they currently employ 37- and 50-seat
Bombardier Dash 8(R)s and Q200/300*s. The Bombardier Q400 will
provide increased capacity on existing routes, while also offering
opportunities to develop new destinations as well.

London City Airport serves business travelers in the financial
heart of London. It is built on the former Royal Docks next to
the Thames River, a few kilometres east of downtown London. The
airport handled 1.6 million passengers in 2000 with forecasts
suggesting traffic will increase to 3.5 million annual passengers
by 2010.

The existence of this unique urban airport is directly linked to
the innovative Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) research
conducted by Bombardier's de Havilland unit in the 1970s and
1980s. In fact, the first aircraft approved to operate into LCY
was the company's innovative 50-passenger Dash 7 airliner.

"Steep approach certification of the Bombardier Q400 will
facilitate operations into other small airports with similar
landing approach restrictions," said Mr. Ridolfi. "In Europe,
this would include Florence, Lugano and Stockholm-Bromma
airports."

Bombardier's Q400 steep approach procedure also results in reduced
landing distances when applied at conventional airports,
permitting increased payloads and reduced maintenance costs for
airlines.

Following more than 30 hours of flying and 130 approaches,
Transport Canada and Bombardier testing has confirmed the
performance and handling capabilities of the Bombardier Q400 at
London City's challenging 5.5 degree approach angle. Transport
Canada's approval of the resulting flight manual supplement is
expected in July 2001, with JAA approval expected in the third
quarter of 2001.

The trials have been carried out at a number of locations by the
Bombardier Flight Test Center personnel including a brief visit to
London City in March this year. The LCY trials included a number
of approaches and full stop landings, as well as ground handling
and manoeuvring.

With two 5,071shp Pratt & Whitney PW150A driving large, slow
turning, six bladed Dowty R408 propellers, the Bombardier Q400 has
more than enough power, combined with excellent low speed handling
characteristics, to easily cope with the 5.5 degree approach and
the transition to land on the short 1,199m runway. It will also
be an extremely good neighbor, with low noise and emission levels.

With the performance and handling phase of the flight test program
essentially complete, development work is now focused on minor
configuration changes to the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and
Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) to facilitate the
steep approach angle.

A total of 110 Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft have been
ordered and optioned by seven airlines - 77 of these by five
European carriers: Augsburg Airways of Germany; British European;
SAS Commuter; Tyrolean Airways of Austria; and Wideroe of Norway.
The Bombardier Q400 is also in service with Horizon Air of the
United States and Changan Airlines of China.

Bombardier Sells Two Additional Q400 High-Speed
Turboprops to Austria's Tyrolean Airways

PARIS, FRANCE--JUNE 18, 2001 - 05:28 EDT
Bombardier Aerospace today announced a follow-on
order for two high-speed, 72-seat Bombardier Q400* turboprop
airliners to Innsbruck-based Tyrolean Airways, subject to board
approval.

Tyrolean currently has five Bombardier Q400 aircraft in its fleet
and a sixth scheduled for delivery in March 2002 from a previous
order.

Bombardier made the announcement today during the Paris
International Air Show held here through June 24th.

"We are pleased to continue building our business with additional
Bombardier products," said Tyrolean president Johann Messner from
the Paris show. "Our airline has grown steadily thanks to the
economic performance of these aircraft which are well regarded by
our passengers for their quiet operation and comfortable cabins,"
he said.

"We are very gratified to conduct further business with Tyrolean,"
said Bombardier Regional Aircraft president Steven Ridolfi.
"Tyrolean's fleet composition, with its mix of turboprop and
regional jet aircraft, is a text book case for not only using the
right sized aircraft on the right routes, but using the right
airplane type on appropriate routes," he said.

Tyrolean's route network serves six destinations in Austria as
well as additional countries throughout Europe and Scandinavia.
Charter flights are also provided to destinations in Europe and
North Africa.

The airline began operations in 1980 with a single de Havilland
Dash 7 aircraft (de Havilland is now part of Bombardier Aerospace)
and introduced the Dash 8 to Europe in 1985.

A long-standing operator of Bombardier products, Tyrolean Airways'
fleet is comprised of 11 Bombardier CRJ200, 12 Dash 8 Series
300/Q300 and three Dash 8 Series 100 aircraft in addition to its
five Q400s. The airline also has four further firm orders plus
three options for Bombardier CRJ200 and four outstanding
Bombardier Q400 options.
