NHC and Consultronics Team Up To Provide Complete DSL
Provisioning Solution

Interoperability testing confirms compatibility of ControlPoint(TM) and CableSHARK

MONTREAL, Quebec, June 25 /CNW/ - NHC Communications Inc. (TSE: NHC - news), a leading
provider of carrier class test access and deployment solutions for the copper-based
telecommunications and Internet access markets, today announced it has signed an interoperability
agreement with Consultronics Limited of Concord, Ontario, guaranteeing the interoperability of
NHC's ControlPoint(TM) solutions and Consultronics' CableSHARK xDSL Cable Qualifier. Both
companies have committed to maintaining the relationship through any product modifications.

The tests confirm that Consultronics' CableSHARK and CableSHARK RM can be seamlessly
integrated with NHC's ControlPoint(TM) cross-connect switch. The combined technologies will
offer Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) requiring copper cross-connect services a complete single
ended testing solution. Using the combined solutions, LECs will be able to perform remote testing,
provisioning, fallback switching and service migration.

In order to deploy Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services, LECs must test the condition of the
copper lines to determine if they are suitable for DSL use. This process is currently performed
manually, and requires the use of truck rolls and on-site visits. By integrating NHC's
ControlPoint(TM) cross- connect switch, LECs will be able to perform these tests remotely,
resulting in significant savings of both time and money.

"We are seeing an increase in the number of LECs looking for a solution that will enable them to
deploy DSL services more efficiently," said Sylvain Abitbol, NHC's President and CEO. "With the
interoperability of our two products, service providers no longer have to worry about interfacing
with equipment that may already be installed in their networks."

(Mr. Abitbol added, "NHC has partnered with a number of leading telecommunications companies
as part of its worldwide growth strategy. Consultronics is represented in more than 70 countries
worldwide, offering significant new market potential for NHC's products.")

"Consultronics is pleased to have proven interoperability with NHC's ControlPoint(TM) copper
cross-connect switch," said Robert Fitts, Executive Vice President of Consultronics. Most of the
world's ILEC's and CLEC's are looking for integrated test access solutions that can evaluate a local
loop for DSL from the MDF or remote cabinet. This agreement adds NHC to a growing list of
companies with which Consultronics is working in this regard.

NHC's ControlPoint(TM) is an automated, true any-to-any copper cross- connect switch capable of
performing the four fundamental functions at the heart of all operations performed by incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs),
competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), and multiple-tenant units and multiple-dwelling units (MTUs/MDUs): loop qualification,
deployment and provisioning, fallback switching and service migration of DSL, ISDN, E1/T1 and POTS.

CableSHARK is used for the qualification of twisted pair cable in the local loop. It analyzes xDSL service deliveries at the level where
problems really occur - at the physical layer. The CableSHARK is ideal for qualifying local loops that will be used to carry DDS,
ISDN, HDSL, HDSL2, SDSL, G. Lite, G.SHDSL and ADSL circuits.
