LOL -- POS gets some analyst flack & INTC cuts prices

>>To start, Merrill Lynch analyst Joe Osha has come out cautious on Micron Technology (MU -2.0%) ahead of its earnings report Thursday. The firm is citing channel checks which indicate MU is likely to take an inventory writedown this quarter of $300-$400 million. While some may interpret this as a positive, Merrill Lynch is cautioning investors that writedowns do not create demand where none exists. <<

>>Intel (NasdaqNM:INTC - news) cut the price of its 800 Mhz Celeron chip by 37 percent to $107 from $170. The Santa Clara, California company cut its 750 Mhz Celeron by 32 percent to $91 from $134, and its 700 Mhz Celeron by 22 percent to $75 from $96.
