You passed by only 1/2 mile from my house on that trip. We lived 1/2 mile from Rte 66 on the east edge of town. You should have stopped by, we had air conditioning then. I remember going to Florida in the 50s in a 49 Plymouth. My parents and grandmother and ish. 4 days on the road each way. Turning on the air was pulling a lever that opened a thing in front of the windshield that did absolutely nothing.
