Of course, if you think abortion is a good thing, then your point is reasonable. But that begs the question.


I wasn't trying to argue a point, only to identify it. If the pro-life crowd thinks it will eliminate abortion it's dreaming. Just like the Catholic Church can't stop contraception, making abortion illegal won't stop it. It's something for which there has always been a perceived need. The only thing in question is resource availability.

This is a difficult issue and the protocol has been to let the two sides pick their own labels, so we have pro-life and pro-choice. The actual best outcome available to the pro-lifers is a reduction in the number of aborted fetuses and an increase in the number of dead or injured women. The bottom line would probably be a net increase of live persons so I guess the label fits, but only at the margins.
