ALA will have to write off Xylan and Assured Access. Siemens will do the same with Efficient.

COme on guys! Big teleocm vendors during bubble time wanted to dress up as data coms companies to fight off the Power Point brigade of the CSCO's of this world.

They went out buying the Cascades and BayNetworks using over priced shares. Now that CSCO threat of New World doesn't impress even ZO's cat, they have to throw away their data coms capabilities.

For those hungry for facts: ERICY and ALA dump their enterprise business.

You, as usual, try to come up with some slick-ass response. Let me make a point. Instead of blaming security analysts all of the time for Nortels and Alcatels problems, like you do with your anti-hero Sagawa, you should also take a hard look at management actions. Look at Nortel, you own shares there too, right? Roth is writing off recently acquired companies for which premiums were paid. As we now know, and as highlighted yesterday by CNBC, those recent acquisitions have failed to ship products on time, failed to ship any products, may never ship products. Sounds like Newbridge Networks, right?
If you are going to take shots at security analysts, you should also take critical shots at management as well. Also, its not Sagawa's fault that the economy stinks, although Sagawa's criticisms will continue to look correct as long as the economy is in the downturn. Or is it that you do not like anyone making any negative comments about your investments?

Going back to Newbridge, that company was issuing profit warnings virtually every quarter, and those warnings had nothing to do with economic conditions. As I recall, you never criticized Matthews, or should I say Sir Mattews. He is going to be knighted, for what? The Canadian government has already stated its displeasure against planned action.
