all bets are off

This whole charade of meeting numbers and gyrating stock price is getting tiresome.

If large cap stocks like NT which have just written off about $10B in intangibles and LU which need to write off similar amounts of intangibles are either
- going to be demonstrate an ability to pay their bills 6 months from now and we are OK in terms of fear of stock market crash

- or are going to be shown unable to pay their bills within 6 months and stock market goes from correction to depression.

Things are coming to a head in the telecom sector. As I write I am in the process of reinstallation of my office sDSL line with AT&T. Currently, I have Rthyms service through Sep via 1 yr contract and they are not going to make it end of year. The AT&T rep is telling me that they will use COVD employees to install old NPNT hardware at Verizon central office. ALso, I am signing up for adsl for my home which is in the virtual shadow of AT&T corporate headquarters. AT&T is first ISP I have found to cover our fairly rural Verizon central office. It doesn't look good when senior AT&T management can't get DSL service from AT&T.
At least, T should be able to pay off for their telecom equipment purchases. Guys like COVD, RTHM XO LVLT and the like are in for hard times ahead.
