Joan and Mark, Fund cos. treat CEFs as though they were the disreputable relatives who have to sneak in by the back door at night. Wait a second, that is the way my relatives treat me. <g>

The simple fact is, the mgt. fee is all the co. makes on a CEF, so there is no reason to push it after the initial offering. The only way to get higher assets is with appreciation, and that is hard work. <g> Whereas if you flog the sales and increase assets in a fully priced open end fund, the fees paid the fund mgt. co. zippety do dah.
