Goldman believes BEA Systems (NASDAQ: BEAS - Quotes, News, Boards) and Veritas Software (NASDAQ: VRTS - Quotes, News, Boards) are attractively valued after a significant sell-off that is overdone. The broker views these companies as the best-positioned names in the infrastructure-software space, and thinks the two companies will be among the first to bounce back once the macroeconomic environment stabilizes.

I, for one, expect a lower Book to Bill this Friday. Further, I am skeptical that the Larry Ellison rally will have much behind it tomorrow. We will know by noon. My guess is we open higher, a few shorts get scared and cover making us go slightly higher, then...
kerplunk as the institutions resume unloading the likes of JDSU and other high PE stocks (many of which have no E at all).

The "technical bounce" everyone has been predicting may very well have started after market close today and end tomorrow afternoon.

best...
