The power is beamed by microwave, as I understand it, to an Earth-side recieving field and churned out as AC to the grid. I've read a Moon-side solar collection setup as well.

I haven't read into it with any seriousness, or looked at the science. But the gee-whiz factor Tom, come on, its more than a techie can bear! :)
