I have friends that work in the server division at ORCL, and they tell me that the clustering stuff appears to really work (finally -- ORCL has been working on it a long time, and earlier versions worked at best for "some applications"). Another friend told me that the app server numbers released at JavaOne were real (that is, people really ran the benchmarks honestly, initially to see how BEAS and IBM products compared to the new code).

Unfortunately, my friends can't tell me anything about ORCL apps (different division, not much communication at their level). However, LE was telling the truth about RDBMS and app server, so I'm hoping that their applications are finally turning the corner.
