Qwest backs prior guidance Street 2001 Rev View $22.23B

Qwest's 2001 revenue outlook is slightly below an average Wall Street
estimate of $22.23 billion. Analysts forecast 2001 earnings of 57 cents a
share.
For 2000, the company reported revenue of $18.95 billion, and earnings,
excluding items, of $995 million, or 59 cents a share. For the second
quarter of 2000, Qwest reported earnings of $218 million, or 13 cents a
share, on revenue of $5.05 billion.
"Despite some softening in the general economy, we believe that demand for
communications services is stronger than what others have reported," the
company said.
