Global Crossing Financial Markets to Provide Network Management and Hosting Services To Securities Dealing Systems

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2001--

-- Securities Dealing Systems' Session Manager and New York Board Of Trade's Electronic Order Routing system available to clients over Global Crossing's Financial Markets Extranet.

-- Futures Commodity Merchants will be able to directly gain entry to New York Board Of Trade's Electronic Order Routing system.

Global Crossing Financial Markets, a division of Global Crossing Ltd. (NYSE: GX) and provider of global network services to the financial services community, announced today that it will provide IP network connectivity and hosting services to Securities Dealing Systems (SDS).

SDS has chosen Global Crossing Financial Markets as its preferred choice for managing network connectivity, hosting application servers and connecting off-floor customers to the New York Board of Trade's (NYBOT) Electronic Order Routing (EOR) system.

SDS's Session Management System provides FIX 4.2 direct electronic communications between NYBOT's trading floor and traders and Futures Commodity Merchants. The Session Management System also provides a browser based front end for order entry over the Internet.

SDS will be able to rapidly deploy its Session Management System over the Global Crossing Financial Markets Extranet which already connects 1,500 end-user locations and over 60 market data and transaction providers globally. By adding SDS's Session Management System to its Extranet, Global Crossing Financial Markets will provide an easy and cost-efficient means for firms to access NYBOT's FIX interface through dedicated connections and the Internet. As a result, Futures Commodity Merchants will be able to directly gain entry to NYBOT's EOR system.

"SDS chose Global Crossing as its preferred network provider due to the unparalleled service, reliability and distribution outlets of its Financial Markets Extranet," said George Maragos, president of SDS. "By contracting Global Crossing to provide network services, we will be able to concentrate on offering superior online investing and trading solutions to the financial services industry."

"Global Crossing is excited to add the SDS Session Management System to its global, Financial Markets Extranet," Richard Farrell, managing director of global sales for Global Crossing Financial Markets said. "SDS' ability to deliver FIX communications to NYBOT will provide added transaction advantages to Global Crossing's On Net users, increasing trading efficiency."
