Our eFE Bureau

Mumbai, June 18: Network of the World (NOW), the internet service provider (ISP) has unveiled its strategy to grab a 60 per cent share of Mumbai’s corporate internet access market within the next six months. The NOW service is the flagship offering from Pacific Century Cyberworks (PCCW), one of the world’s largest Internet companies, founded by Mr Richard Li. The company which currently has a presence in the retail market, plans to make a foray into the corporate market as well. NOW has also commissiond the third gateway in Mumbai and has so far invested Rs 26 crore in the gateways and the ISP net operating centres here.

Mr Siddhartha Ray, managing director of Data Access India Ltd, the company that promoted NOW in India said that with the third gateway he expects to take 150 MB out of Mumbai. He added that depending on the market conditions they will be setting up additional gateways in Delhi, and one each in Chennai and Bangalore.

To grab the 60 per cent share of Mumbai’s corporate customers, the marketing strategy is laying emphasis on providing guaranteed uninterrupted internet access through leased line circuits connected to NOW’s international gateway at Tardeo and a unique pricing formula that will offer the lowest cost service to business customers.
