Hi Kirk,

I agree to a degree.

I think the use of planar chips and transistors will be considered as kind back in the dark ages.

As all optic sytems become reality and polymeric opto electric modulators featuring active fiber are commercially available - all fiber systems will truly be just in the beginning stages.

Main point being ,fiber will have a Moore's law of sorts also.
