Van Scoyac jailed for shouting abuse A 92-year-old man has been put behind bars for sitting on his front porch shouting abuse at passers-bys and trowing firecrackers. Twice this summer Van Scoyac has been arrested and taken to the cells to cool off. He has been charged with harrassment after his neighbours in Mechanicville, near New York, complained about his language. "He sits on the front porch and howls obscenities at the people across the street," said arresting officer Steve Barton. Van Scoyac enjoys sitting on his front porch "people-watching," tossing firecrackers and "masturbating", reports the Times Union. He lets fly with a volley of curses aimed at neighbours and anyone who happens to walk by. He's been doing it for years. This week he was arrested again, spending two days in Saratoga Jail giving "gum" to the much more agresive inmates until his son paid the $1,000 bail.
