This is stupid. Mocking names does not add to constructive conversation, and in fact it is the phenomenal majority of the time posted with the intent of provoking others to anger. I accuse both sides of being guilty of this act (though two people seem to almost exclusively stand out with this practice), and I fully support a bipartisan (w00t!) rule on this thread curtailing extended abuse of these product and technology names (eg, calling something ecch86 or PowerlessPC to show your distaste for certain ISAs shows a limited degree of intelligence and capacity for imagination, but after weeks of continual usage, it is merely a sign that the poster who uses it isn't actually interested in making peaceful and intellectual conversation).

Here Here.. I fully endorse that sentiment and idea... In fact.. I would propose something further.. I have no doubt some of the AMD brethren go into the Intel thread and try baiting a la Paul in the hopes of getting a rise outta him or Elmer or whoever... I propose any name calling there in this context be halted as well in the Intel thread.. Just because Paul comes and does it in here doesnt make it right for people to go in there and do the exact same thing they're complaining that he does here.
