If I didn't have money and contacts, I would have lost my suit by default as I wouldn't have been able to reply to it. That is not right. Then poor people or people without attorneys as friends would never be able to express their opinion without fear of a lawsuit. People would stop posting honestly about companies. Message boards would just turn into an extension of investor relations.

I personally feel that perhaps SI admin could have stepped in and suspended both of these people for a week or so to cool them off a little. Maybe ask them both to not talk about the other for a month or so also if they want to come back. Then perhaps it might not have escalated to a slander lawsuit and nausea. I think as a whole our society is way too litigious. I think it should only be the last resort for resolution of problems.
