<<I know you are in LU.>>

Not anymore. I used the gap up to sell 1/2, placed a breakeven stop on the other half and got taken out (as Alan would say, "for a Bud Light"). These are still falling knives, but I guess my targets are still MOT at 5, JDSU at 6 and Sicko at 7. Wait for the market turn, no need to be a hero with this stuff yet....

I think a big danger here (as in most bear markets) is overtrading (and I'm guilty, guilty, GUILTY of it). No need to force the trades. Look for the very best set ups long or short and trade your plan. Even if it's only once a month. The trades that have been losing me money lately are the 3rd and 4th best ideas I have that day, and those will kill you over the long term (and besides they are a headache to track and follow).

Lucent will likely not go broke, but it's not impossible either. They VERY likely will be dead money for years, cause it'll take that long to cut out the fat in their corporate structure. It's not real clear what the attraction will be after Agere was spun off (and soon a fiber optic cable division). A lot of intellectual property went away in the Agere spin off (ie, a big chunk of the division formerly known as Bell Labs). In addition they're reported to be behind schedule in their layoff plan, meaning a faster cash burn rate (and higher probability of financing problems down the road). They still have a market cap of 19 billion and over 3 billion shares outstanding. Finally they have more than a little overhead resistence on the charts:

I hope I've made myself clear (though it's all just my very humble opinion only). Why did I buy it? I dunno, I suppose it was my 5th best idea yesterday.

Regards
