Got my network up, running and sharing!
I had to turn the ZA Local security setting down from high
to medium on both PCs. Also on both PCs in the Advanced
tab in ZA's security settings I had to add the IP address of the
other PC. The Adopter Subnets box can remain unchecked.
The only quirk I have left to work out is the Dell 933 takes
30-60 seconds to list the files on the 233. The 233 lists
the files on the 933 right away. The 233 is connecting to the router
with a cat. 5 cable. The 933 is connected with a lighter cable
that came with my cable modem. I doubt this is the bottleneck but
I'll try a better cord on the 933 tomorrow and see if that makes
any difference. If not I'll look over the Linksys site, if I don't find an
answer there I'll give them a call. OK Mark, so when are you gonna
set up your network?? I hope you find my posts as helpful as I've
found yours in the past. Oh, even after spending too much time
playing with my network yesterday I still got a 99 on my test in A+
class today! After the test I completely took apart, down to a bare
motherboard, and reassembled an AMD 500 PC. I didn't get a
chance to boot after reassembling so I'll have to wait to Thursday
to see if the reassembly was successful. After I finish a 2nd A+
class 7 weeks from now I'll be taking a Windows 2000 Server class.
At that point I'll disable the DHCP protocol in the router and try to
use my 933 as server, I'm not sure it's possible to share a cable
internet connection on a client/server network, I'll have to look into
it. I might need to share the internet connection through the router
then get another NIC to conect the 2PCs directly. I'll do more DD
on this other configuration as I get closer to my W2K server class.

Good Night, SfkaJB (from the old 233 upstairs that Cheeky thought I should trash)
