There is no deadline. Barrick has to spend US$4 million between June 2000 and June 2001. If they don't PFG has the right to buy the property back for US$10,000 from Barrick. Clearly Barrick has not spent the money.

The issue is what are the terms of the underlying agreement between the landowners and PFG? PFG only has the right to buy it back not an obligation. The terms of continuing to own the property may be onerous and they may not buy Barrick's 70% interest. It may not be viewed as an asset to PFG after all.
