>>>heard about any PM's that were not truths.<<<

How would you know if they were "truths" if you hadn't heard both sides?

I would hope everyone agree's that the truth can only come out if both sides are heard in public. It's easy for a malicious poster to dupe unsuspecting and honest individuals if everything is kept secret. The truth does not fear the light of day.

P.S. I agree with impristine, PM's of certain individuals are monitored.

The only comment I have about PM's is that they are private messages and should be kept that way. I have no idea even if SI can read PM's but I suppose they could if they wanted too.

IM chats don't fade from PCs' memories

"In Yahoo's case, the message archive feature was added in May when the company introduced a new version of the service. According to a Yahoo representative, the feature was added to let people manage their IM conversations in the same way e-mail is managed.

Yahoo Messenger users must turn on the archive. But people are not warned beforehand if the person they're chatting with has the archive turned on.

"As with any type of sensitive information, we stress to all our users that they use their best judgment when they're choosing their form of communication," said a Yahoo representative."
